Part-Time Accountant
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Hours: Part-Time (Flexible – approximately 20–25 hours per week)
Salary: £15.50 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a varied role and is looking for flexibility while taking ownership of day-to-day accounting functions.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the management team, and ensuring the smooth running of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Managing supplier payments and customer receipts
- Assisting with payroll information where required
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Monitoring cash flow and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
- AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualified (or equivalent)
- Studying towards ACCA or CIMA is advantageous but not essential
