About the Role
We are recruiting for a unique combined role that brings together two vital functions within YPAC and 4CT:
- Team Coordinator (YPAC) – ensuring smooth, high‑quality delivery of our youth work programme in Miles Platting and Newton Heath
- Lead Detached Youth Worker (Piccadilly Gardens Project) – delivering relational, responsive detached youth work in Manchester city centre
This role is ideal for someone who is organised, relational, resilient and passionate about young people. You’ll support staff, manage delivery schedules, oversee monitoring, and lead frontline detached youth work with young people who spend time in and around Piccadilly Gardens.
Key Responsibilities
Team Coordinator (10 hours per week)
- Manage weekly timetables, rotas and session cover
- Provide day‑to‑day supervision for staff and volunteers
- Oversee monitoring, reporting and Views data
- Act as a communication link between CEO, staff and partners
- Coordinate social media content and updates
- Provide initial safeguarding guidance and escalate concerns
Lead Detached Youth Worker – Piccadilly Gardens (20 hours per week)
- Deliver detached youth work Tuesday–Friday, 4–7pm
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Engage young people using informal, relational approaches
- Work in line with Manchester Detached Youth Work Protocols
- Provide advice, guidance, signposting and wellbeing support
- Maintain accurate records of contacts and outcomes
- Work closely with MCC, GMP, businesses and VCSE partners
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in detached or outreach youth work
- Experience coordinating programmes, rotas or delivery schedules
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly with young people
- Confident in managing challenging situations
- Knowledge of safeguarding, youth work values and EDI
- Competent with email, shared drives, monitoring systems (e.g., Views)
Personal Qualities
- Approachable, non‑judgemental and resilient
- Proactive, reliable and solution‑focused
- Committed to youth voice, participation and inclusion
- Able to uphold YPAC’s Christian‑rooted ethos of dignity, justice and inclusion
Desirable
- JNC Professional Status or Level 3 in Youthwork
- Experience of city‑centre youth work
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers
- Knowledge of Manchester’s youth support systems
- Experience producing social media content
