Job Summary:
Reporting to the BIM Manager this specific role is part of a high achieving team delivering industry leading innovative CAD solutions to a large multi-disciplinary project team.
The CAD Manager is responsible for supporting the production, transfer, assessment and conversion of Drawing Files and assisting the management of outputs and quality of the CAD team overseeing drawing production and distribution across the project team. The role will also support the production development of 4d and on-site logistics drawings to support the wider delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and monitor CAD design standards and procedures

Technical assurance on drawing quality
-
Assurance of information in the Project Information Model, within the CDE.

Ensure project documentation and contracts are in compliance with the project standards
-
Support the Information Manager on all aspects associated with third party data delivery and adherence to supplier BIM Execution Plans
-
Provide guidance and direction to external subcontractors CAD teams to ensure operational and technical compliance.

Production of CAD and BIM models
-
Recommend best practices for solutions

Maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables

Ensuring CAD processes, standards and procedures are adhered to by the supply chain and that incoming CAD data is of sufficient quality and to agreed standards to meet BIM objectives

Responsible for raising awareness, education and training of project managers and engineers in CAD process and tools

Providing responses to technical CAD questions, requests for information; and communicating technical information to non-technical staff

Supporting CAD related training

Identify areas for improvement and feedback into the CAD standards development and operational delivery processes including promoting digital transformation in all areas where efficiency can be gained
Technical skills and Competencies:
-
Knowledge of information management tools and especially CAD
-
Experience of CAD/BIM management tools, such as [Microstation / AutoCad for the management and assurance of CAD information;

Experience of CAD/BIM within an engineering or multi-disciplinary project
-
Experience of managing technical information in a complex environment
-
Experience of working in a high pressure, high data volume environment
-
Experience in a Bentley Working Environment.

Experience of technical information production within the construction and rail sectors
-
Experience of liaising directly with supply chain, client and third parties
-
Knowledge of UK Fully BIM Compliant standards, including ISO19650 Standards
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:

Recent experience of relevant construction projects

Recognised CAD certification
-
Academic qualifications of HNC/HND or in a construction-based subject

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a highly collaborative working environment.
