Set above the stunning North Cornwall coastline overlooking Portreath beach, Gwel An Mor Resort is part of the Argyll Holidays collection of premium holiday parks and resorts.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Grounds Manager to lead the day-to-day presentation and maintenance of our resort grounds and landscaped areas. This is a varied, hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes genuine pride in high standards, and can keep a team organised.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the resort looks exceptional for guests, owners, and visitors throughout the year.
The Role
As Grounds Manager, you will oversee all aspects of grounds and landscape maintenance across the resort, ensuring outdoor areas remain safe, well-presented, and maintained to a consistently high standard.
You’ll manage daily operations, coordinate workloads, support and motivate the grounds team, and work closely with other departments to help deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Leading and motivating the grounds team to maintain exceptional standards across the resort
- Planning and allocating daily workloads efficiently
- Carrying out and supervising:
- Grass cutting
- Strimming and edging
- Landscaping and planting
- Weed control
- General grounds maintenance
- Monitoring the condition of pathways, landscaped areas, shrubbery, fencing, and public spaces
- Conducting routine inspections to ensure presentation and safety standards are maintained
- Ensuring all tools, machinery, and equipment are operated safely and maintained correctly
- Supporting ongoing improvements and development projects across the resort
- Working collaboratively with maintenance, housekeeping, and resort management teams
Health & Safety
Health and safety is a key part of this role. You will be expected to:
- Promote safe working practices across the grounds team
- Assist with risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Identify hazards and report incidents appropriately
- Ensure guest, colleague, and contractor safety at all times
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar role
- Experience supervising or leading a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Good knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and safe working practices
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A reliable, proactive, and hands-on approach
Desirable:
- PA1 / PA6 spraying certificates
- Experience within hospitality, holiday parks, or large public environments
- Machinery or ride-on mower experience

Working Hours
This role requires flexibility and will include weekends, bank holidays, and busy seasonal periods in line with the hospitality industry.
