Job Description: Aircraft Component Technician
- We are seeking an Aircraft Component Technician to join our Interiors Division. This role involves hands-on repair, refurbishment, and overhaul of aircraft cabin interior systems and installed equipment in accordance with Part 145 regulations. Work will include fault finding, repair, refurbishment, and functional testing of both mechanical and electronic cabin-installed components.
- Key equipment and systems worked on include aircraft instruments, audio and cabin entertainment equipment, avionics interface units, cockpit control panels (where cabin-interfaced), and other integrated interior electrical and electronic assemblies.
- Candidates with aviation experience are preferred; however, technicians from electronics, electrical engineering, audio systems, instrumentation repair, or similar technical backgrounds with transferable skills will be considered and fully trained for the aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair, overhaul and refurbishment of aircraft cabin-installed systems and interior equipment
- Fault finding and testing of aircraft instruments, audio systems and cabin communication equipment
- Repair of avionics interface units and associated cockpit/cabin control panels (as applicable to interior systems)
- Electrical and electronic fault diagnosis at component and LRU level
- Repair and replacement of wiring, connectors, switches, displays and control modules
- Mechanical refurbishment of housings, panels and mounting assemblies
- Use of test equipment, diagnostic tools and approved repair procedures
- Completion of maintenance documentation in line with Part 145 requirements
- Working strictly to approved procedures, engineering drawings, and aviation quality and safety standards
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Engineering, electronics, electrical, or instrumentation experience
- Hands-on fault-finding and repair experience on electrical/electronic equipment
- Ability to work with test equipment and follow technical schematics
- Recognised technical or engineering qualification (or equivalent experience)
Desirable:
- Previous aviation, aerospace, or avionics/interiors experience
- Experience with audio systems, instrumentation, or control panel repair
- Background in regulated or quality-controlled environments
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary up to £31,000 DOE
