As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Zetland Vets. We currently have both a full-time permanent position and a full-time 12-month fixed-term position available.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly and close-knit team, working across our Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds sites. Our practices are well equipped with operating theatre facilities, dental X-ray and an in-house laboratory, providing a varied environment in which to use and develop your nursing skills.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care while supporting excellent experiences for our patients and clients.
You’ll work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
The role will be predominantly consult-based alongside your wider nursing responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to build strong client relationships while remaining involved in inpatient care, diagnostics, anaesthesia and surgical support.
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days
- Mix of shifts between 8:00am and 8:30pm
- Shifts split between our Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds sites
- 8 Saturdays per year, 8:30am – 5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Permanent and 12-month fixed-term opportunities available
Key Responsibilities
- Run nurse clinics and provide a high standard of client care
- Deliver outstanding inpatient nursing care
- Assist with laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
- Monitor anaesthesia and support surgical procedures
- Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider clinical team
- Maintain high standards of patient welfare, clinical hygiene and infection control
- Support the smooth running of the practice across our different sites
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with confidence across core medical and surgical nursing responsibilities
- Experience working sole charge when required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
- The ability to travel between our Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds sites
