Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of those in their care. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Administer medication following care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided in accordance with organisational policies
- Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual needs and preferences
- Support clients with light domestic tasks such as laundry and cleaning
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
- Strong organisational skills to follow detailed care plans accurately
- IT literacy for maintaining electronic records and documentation
- Compassionate nature with genuine interest in caring for others
- Good driving skills and a valid driving licence are desirable for home care roles
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a care home or community setting
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
