Main Job Purpose:
GBSG Ltd installs, maintains and monitors bespoke security systems for clients across the UK.
This is a hands-on technical support role providing practical first-line assistance for our on-site security systems. The role will work directly with engineers, customers, Control Room operators and internal teams to answer technical queries, diagnose faults, investigate issues and deliver effective resolutions. The role also includes programming and testing equipment and contributing to the development and integration of Control Room/Alarm Receiving Centre software, products and services.
The role is office-based in Donington (near Spalding, Lincolnshire), with occasional site visits and out-of-hours/on-call support required when necessary.
Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with 1 hours lunch unpaid.
Essential Requirements:

· Attention to detail and a thorough approach to fault finding and investigation
· Ability to complete tasks and resolve issues in a timely manner
· Flexible approach, including the ability to work out of hours or take part in an on-call rota when required
· Full, clean driving licence
· Basic IT knowledge, including networking
Desirable Requirements:
Experience of the following:
· Previous IT experience including IP systems, Networking, Routing and VPN’s
· Security Monitoring software (Sentinel)
· Knowledge of Security equipment and IP configurations
Role accountabilities:
· Provide hands-on technical support to engineers, customers, Control Room operators and internal staff by telephone, email, remote connection and, where required, on site.
· Receive and respond to technical queries, gather the relevant information and provide clear, practical guidance.
· Investigate faults and recurring technical issues, identify root causes, test potential solutions and follow each issue through to a satisfactory resolution.
· Program, configure and test existing and new equipment for installation projects and the Alarm Receiving Centre, ensuring it is ready within the required timescales.
· Support engineers with equipment setup, system configuration, networking, remote connectivity and fault diagnosis before and during installation and maintenance visits.
· Keep customers and colleagues informed throughout technical investigations, record actions and outcomes, and close outstanding issues professionally and promptly.
· Carry out site visits to configure and troubleshoot complex networks, wireless networks, security equipment and customer devices.
· Produce and maintain practical technical guides, fault-finding information and training materials, and deliver product or system training when required.
· Take part in the on-call rota, responding to Control Room and engineer requests for technical support during the periods covered.
· Contribute hands-on technical input to the development, testing and improvement of bespoke Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC/RVRC) software and system integrations.
· Observe all safety rules and procedures, leave work areas, equipment and materials in a safe condition, and take reasonable care for the health and safety of colleagues and others.
· Work in a way that reduces negative environmental impact, including reducing waste and recycling wherever practical.
· Comply with all company policies, procedures and instructions, and carry out any other reasonable duties required by the company.
Pay: £26,500.00-£28,000.00 per year
