Hi! Please read all the text below, and attach a short cover letter and CV to your application. Thanks!
We are looking for someone to join the team at our bakery in SE London, from which we supply our three shops. The role is primarily as a Kitchen Porter, assisting with cleaning and washing up, however it will also involve some assistance with food preparation tasks, such as weighing out and shaping products, juicing and prepping fruit etc, and any other manual tasks as needed in the bakery. You must have a strong understanding of, and be able to adhere to hygiene and health and safety standards, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations, and be able to work to high standards across the board. Ideally you will have some previous experience in a professional kitchen - this is not essential, however some good experience in a catering or hospitality environment is needed as it's a pretty big operation and everyone needs to be fast-moving and proactive. We have a small team of 6-8 people, and the work is very communal, with everyone having lunch together each day. We are looking for someone with good communication skills and an interest in food/bakery production.
Shifts are generally 7am-3pm between Thursday and Sunday. If you have any commitments affecting your availabilty, or any potential changes to your availability in the next 2-3 months, please outline these in your cover letter. Payment is on a freelance basis, so you would invoice each Monday for immediate payment for the previous week's shifts. You should live locally and be able to commute to the bakery for early starts, without relying heavily on public transport.
Please respond to this ad with a CV, but more importantly a good cover letter to introduce yourself. Applications with no cover letter will be disregarded. Thanks!
