Role Overview
As a Community Companion, you will provide social support, encouragement, and companionship to individuals who may be feeling isolated or in need of a friendly face. This could involve accompanying them on walks, helping them attend social events or simply having a chat over a cup of tea. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting new people, has a caring nature, and wants to be part of a company that values personal connections.
Key Responsibilities
· Offer companionship through conversation, activities, and community engagement.
· Support individuals in attending social groups, appointments, and local events.
· Encourage independence while providing emotional and practical support.
· Accompany clients on walks, to the shops, or for a coffee.
· Assist with light household tasks where needed (e.g., meal preparation, tidying up).
· Build trusting relationships and monitor well-being, reporting any concerns.
· Represent our company with warmth and professionalism in the local community.
What we’re looking for
· Have a genuine passion for helping others and making a difference.
· Are excellent listeners and can engage in meaningful conversations.
· Are reliable, patient, and able to build trust with those they support.
· Can encourage independence while offering support where needed.
· Have experience in care, support work, volunteering, or customer service (desirable but not essential).
· Are comfortable working with people of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
· Basic first aid trained (preferred but not required).
· Must pass an enhanced DBS check.
· A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is essential.
