Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers and Senior Residential Support Workers to join our team in our Childrens Home. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidates will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing environment, fostering development, and promoting well-being. Experience working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for this position.
Duties
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Support behavioural management strategies and assist in implementing therapeutic interventions where applicable.
- Engage in daily activities that promote social, emotional, and developmental growth.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Assist with organising educational activities, outings, and recreational programmes to enhance life skills.
- Provide emotional support and build trusting relationships with service users to foster a positive environment.
- Drive company vehicles as required for outings or appointments, ensuring safe transportation at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans in line with organisational policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or within a childcare or residential support setting is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive company vehicles safely.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in creating or following care plans.
- Good IT skills for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required by organisational needs; previous experience in residential care is advantageous but not essential.
