Hybrid role:
This is primarily a home-based volunteer role with flexible hours. However, you may occasionally be asked to visit local businesses, community venues or potential partners to support fundraising activities. You will also be expected to attend any fundraising events or activities that you organise where reasonably possible.
Do you have a passion for fundraising and want to use your skills to make a real difference to cats in need?
As our Volunteer Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a vital role in helping StraySafe Rescue continue rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming vulnerable cats across Greater Manchester. Every penny we raise helps provide veterinary treatment, food, equipment and safe foster homes for cats who have nowhere else to turn.
This is a varied role with plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity. You’ll take the lead on developing fundraising campaigns, exploring new income opportunities and helping us build long-term financial sustainability.
You could be:
* Planning and delivering fundraising campaigns and appeals.
* Developing seasonal and emergency fundraising initiatives.
* Researching and applying for grants.
* Building relationships with local businesses, donors and supporters.
* Supporting community fundraising activities and events.
* Working with our marketing team to promote fundraising campaigns.
* Monitoring campaign performance and identifying new opportunities to increase income.
* Helping develop a simple fundraising strategy to support the charity’s long-term growth.
You’ll work closely with our trustees to ensure fundraising supports the areas where it’s needed most, whether that’s emergency veterinary treatment, expanding foster capacity or responding to urgent rescue cases.
This is a flexible remote volunteer role offering plenty of autonomy, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership and seeing their ideas become reality.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who enjoys developing ideas, building relationships and making things happen.
Ideally, you’ll have experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, donor engagement or partnership development, although experience gained in the charity, public or private sector is equally valuable.
We’re particularly interested in someone who:
* Has experience planning or delivering fundraising campaigns.
* Is organised and able to manage multiple projects.
* Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Enjoys thinking creatively and bringing fresh fundraising ideas.
* Is confident working independently while collaborating with a small team.
* Has experience with grants, donor stewardship, corporate partnerships or digital fundraising (desirable but not essential).
* Shares our passion for improving animal welfare.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and excited about helping a growing rescue charity build a sustainable future.
What difference will you make?
The impact of this role is immediate and tangible.
Unlike many larger charities, StraySafe Rescue has no guaranteed source of income. Every cat we rescue depends on the generosity of our supporters.
The funds you help raise will directly enable us to:
* Provide emergency veterinary treatment.
* Rescue more cats from unsafe situations.
* Support additional foster homes.
* Purchase food, medication and essential supplies.
* Respond quickly to welfare emergencies.
* Build a financially sustainable rescue that can continue helping cats for years to come.
Every successful campaign helps give another cat the chance of a safe, healthy and loving future.
What’s in it for you?
By volunteering with StraySafe Rescue, you’ll:
* Use your professional skills to make a genuine difference.
* Gain experience leading fundraising strategy for a registered charity.
* Help shape the future of a growing animal rescue.
* Work flexibly from home around your existing commitments.
* Join a friendly, supportive and passionate volunteer team.
* See the real-life impact of the work you do.
Before you apply
When applying, we’d love to hear why you’re interested in joining StraySafe Rescue and any relevant experience you have.
If shortlisted, we’ll invite you to an informal video call to chat about the role, answer any questions and learn more about your ideas. Depending on your experience, we may also ask you to briefly outline how you would approach a fundraising campaign or share a fundraising idea.
