Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to oversee and carry out a variety of grounds maintenance activities across our client portfolio.
This Team Leader role requires a background in grounds maintenance and horticulture with experience in organising day to day activities. Based in Stoke on Trent, you will be completing a variety of grounds maintenance roles and tasks on client sites including Schools, Businesses, Hospitals, Police Stations and Housing Estates.
General day to day duties will include:
- Liaising with the client / site managers and residents
- Completing paperwork and adhering to the companies Health and Safety policy
- Managing other members of the team and checking works completed
- Organising the days activities and being able to work to strict deadlines
- Grass cutting using a ride on mower
- Grass strimming
- Hedge cutting and shrub pruning
- Leaf collection
- Weed control
- Other horticultural activities as required
- Providing feedback to management regarding the site appearance and recommendations.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining outdoor environments.
- Supervising experience leading teams.
A clear and clean Enhanced DBS will be required.
Full clean driving license required with the ability to tow a trailer desirable.
The following qualifications will be advantageous:
- Safe use of a Ride on Mower
- PA1 PA6 Spraying qualifications
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication/organisational skills and have a positive work ethic/attitude.
