Weekend Barista/Server

Cafe 53 is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Weekend Barista/Server to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in excellent service and thrives in a busy cafe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and process payments.
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas and other hot and cold drinks.
- Serve food promptly and present it to a high standard.
- Clear tables and keep the cafe, counter and service areas clean and organised.
- Restock ingredients, crockery and supplies throughout each shift.
- Follow food hygiene, allergen, health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Respond professionally to customer questions, requests and feedback.
- Assist with opening and closing duties when required.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have a positive attitude and excellent customer-service skills.
- Be confident, approachable and comfortable speaking with customers.
- Work calmly and efficiently during busy periods.
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Have good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Be available to work weekends, including Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays when required.
- Have previous barista, cafe, restaurant or hospitality experience. Barista experience is preferred, although training may be provided to the right person.
- Have a basic understanding of food hygiene and allergens.
