Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, furniture, and framing structures with precision and care
- Conduct roofing repairs and maintenance to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing
- Carry out construction painting projects to enhance aesthetics and protect surfaces
- Handle plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures
- Execute masonry work such as bricklaying, concrete patching, and stonework repairs
- Utilize welding techniques for fabricating or repairing metal components and structures
- Conduct electrical work within safety guidelines, including installing switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures
- Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently for various repair tasks
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed to meet project specifications
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work or related trades
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels and saws
- Proficient with power tools including drills, grinders, saws and sanders
- Familiarity with construction painting techniques and surface preparation
- Ability to read technical drawings or blueprints for fabrication or repair projects
- Knowledge of safety standards related to construction and maintenance work
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
