About the Service
We are a well-established, independent, and high-performing nursing care home based in Dundonald Ayrshire delivering consistent, high-quality care to the individuals we support. Our Home is organised into small, nurse-led units, allowing for safer staffing levels, continuity of care, and a more supportive and manageable working environment for our team. The Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team within the care home. This is a key role within the Home. You will take responsibility for leading shifts, supporting staff, and ensuring residents receive safe, effective, and responsive care at all times. You will be given the autonomy to lead your unit, with the support of an experienced and visible management team.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in line with best practice and regulatory standards
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing and care delivery
- Administer medications and carry out clinical duties safely
- Assess, plan, and review care needs and risk assessments
- Monitor residents’ health and respond appropriately to changes
- Support residents living with dementia using a person-centred approach
- Supervise, guide, and support care staff
- Maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date records
- Liaise effectively with families, GPs, and external professionals

About You
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC PIN
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience working within a care home setting
- Experience supporting residents living with dementia
- Confident leading shifts and managing care delivery
- Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Due to the location of the Home, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
