We're looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Operative to join our busy Oxford branch.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving outdoor work, building materials handling, and delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers.
What You'll Be Doing
Loading and unloading building materials, including timber and roofing products
Picking, checking and preparing customer orders accurately
Assisting customers collecting goods from the yard
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Operating forklift trucks (where trained and authorised)
Supporting goods-in and stock management activities
Working with colleagues to ensure smooth branch operations
Following all health and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication and customer service skills
Previous yard, warehouse or builders merchant experience (desirable)
Forklift Truck Licence (preferred but not essential)
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment
Reliable, organised and team-focused approach
Knowledge of building materials would be advantageous
Working Hours
Week:1
Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 16:30
Week:2
Monday to Friday: 07:00-16:30
Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm
