Due to continued growth and success, Skills Group is looking for a passionate Automotive Trainer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced automotive professional who wants to pass on their skills, support learners to succeed, and develop their own teaching career in a supportive environment.
You’ll plan and deliver engaging, industry-relevant training that helps learners build confidence, practical ability, and job-ready competence.
What you’ll be doing
- Planning and delivering high-quality automotive training in classroom and specialist workshop environments
- Using a range of teaching methods and resources to support different learning styles
- Assessing learners using varied assessment methods and making fair, objective assessment decisions
- Providing constructive feedback that supports learner progress and confidence
- Working with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuous improvement
- Identifying and supporting learners with additional or special assessment needs
- Maintaining accurate and secure learner records using e-based systems
- Keeping your industry knowledge and teaching practice up to date through ongoing CPD
What we’re looking for
- Industry-relevant qualifications and experience within an automotive trade
- Strong practical knowledge and up-to-date industry skills
- Excellent communication skills, with good literacy and numeracy
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organised
- Confidence in making professional, objective decisions
- A willingness to travel (full UK driving licence and own vehicle required)
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required
Teaching or assessing experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from experienced automotive professionals who are keen to develop their training career.
