We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the presentation, cleanliness, and general upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repair work throughout the property.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and rectify issues where appropriate.
- Report any major defects, damages, or health and safety concerns to management.
- Assist with decorating, painting, and basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks as required.
- Ensure external areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Support housekeeping and operational teams when necessary to maintain high property standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance stores in a safe and organised manner.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Good practical maintenance skills and basic knowledge of building repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks safely.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, caretaking, or hospitality maintenance role.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or decorating work.
- Experience working within a hotel, hospitality, or customer-focused environment.
