Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to run our current operation and oversee our transportation and logistics functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of general haulage operations and expertise in a managerial position. This role involves managing transportation activities, Working closely with the team and being pro active.
Saturday mornings will be required on a shift pattern however Saturdays normally are 3-4 hours
Rotating "call out phone" pattern to suit business 24hr needs and management of divers after hours if needed
Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Supervise and oversee the haulage operation
- Utilise existing software to increase sales / turnover through platforms such as Haulage Exchange
- Oversee / organise subcontractors
- Monitor profit & loss statements related to transportation activities, identifying areas for cost reduction and process optimisation.
- Lead process improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing waste through continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintenance of our fleet through timed PMI/Mot schedules
- Analyse logistics data to identify trends, forecast demand, and develop strategies for future growth.
- Maintain customer communication and relationship to ensure a high level of customer service, including customer updates and POD delivery
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
