We are a specialist company in the supply and installation of premium granite, quartz, and natural stone work surfaces. Known for our quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer service, we deliver bespoke kitchen worktops to residential and commercial clients across the country.
We are now seeking an experienced Lead Fitter to join our installation team. This is a hands-on role for a skilled fitter who can take the lead on-site, ensuring every installation is completed to the highest standard and represents our brand’s commitment to excellence.
Role Purpose
The Lead Fitter will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of installation projects on site, ensuring work surfaces are fitted accurately, efficiently, and safely. This role involves both carrying out installations and managing the work of supporting fitters or labourers, while acting as the primary point of contact with customers during fitting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of granite, quartz, and natural stone worktops at customer sites.
- Oversee the work of installation assistants, providing guidance and ensuring quality workmanship.
- Ensure all surfaces are fitted to exact measurements and tolerances from templating.
- Liaise directly with customers on site to confirm details and provide updates.
- Resolve any fitting challenges or site issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are used safely and maintained in good condition.
- Adhere to health & safety regulations and company quality standards.
- Complete any required paperwork or digital sign-offs following installations.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Proven experience fitting granite, quartz, or other solid surface worktops.
- Strong practical skills and knowledge of stone handling, cutting, and finishing.
- Ability to read and work from CAD drawings and templates.
- Excellent problem-solving skills on-site.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience leading a small installation team.
- CSCS card or equivalent site safety qualification.
- Experience with specialist stone installation tools and equipment.
Working Conditions
- Full-time role with regular travel to customer sites.
- Occasional early starts, late finishes, or weekend work depending on schedules.
