Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks using a variety of hand tools and power tools efficiently and accurately
- Replace or repair faulty parts such as brakes, transmission, and suspension components
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex vehicle systems and implement effective solutions
- Safely use proper techniques and equipment to ensure standards are met
- Document all work performed clearly and accurately in service records for transparency and accountability
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency throughout the repair process
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues across various vehicle systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools essential for automotive repairs
- Ability to lift heavy components safely, demonstrating physical strength and proper lifting techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to team members and customers
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Prior experience or certification in automotive repair is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
