About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager to join our growing team at Cedar Health and Wellbeing on a fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a can-do attitude who is ready to take on an exciting challenge—Supporting the Registered Manager for our supported living services for adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs.
You’ll be responsible for setting the tone and culture of the service, leading by example and embedding best practices in every aspect of care delivery. From designing person-centred support plans to ensuring regulatory compliance, your leadership will be key to creating a safe, empowering, and nurturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Service Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Support the Registered Manager in leading, managing, and continuously improving the service.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure high-quality, person-centred care, stepping into direct support when needed.
- Oversee and ensure accuracy and quality of documentation, including support plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Lead Core Team Meetings, staff supervisions, and appraisals, supporting Senior Support Workers in effective team management.
- Identify and oversee staff training and development, ensuring learning is embedded in practice.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and workforce planning to maintain safe and effective service delivery.
- Oversee medication management, audits, and staff competency.
- Monitor compliance, health and safety, and financial audits, ensuring timely action on outcomes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, professionals, and external partners.
- Promote effective communication, clear handovers, and a culture of choice, independence, and inclusion.
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours leadership.
- Lead recruitment, staff induction, and performance management processes.
- Ensure the service meets CQC standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Oversee benefits management and maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Support smooth transitions for individuals and attend multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) and model best practice.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is not only experienced but passionate about delivering excellent care:
Essential experience:
- Level 3 or 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care (or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing Supported Living services for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- Track record of achieving and maintaining CQC compliance.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Confident working independently and as part of an on-call rota.
- Full UK driving licence – essential.
