An opportunity is available for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our Day Services team in Middlesbrough on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The role includes supporting service users with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, and nutrition while promoting independence. You will monitor and record changes in physical and mental health, reporting concerns to registered staff. Duties include accompanying individuals to medical appointments and health checks, ensuring comfort, safety, and communication needs are met. You will help deliver person-centred social and recreational activities to support engagement and well-being. Strong communication skills are essential, including adapting methods to understand each person's preferences. Collaboration with nurses, therapists, and families is required, along with accurate record-keeping and adherence to confidentiality and organisational policies.

You will be responsible to supporting patients during mealtimes and post mealtimes, you will be completing physical monitoring and gain training on aspects of the physical health training from our internal team as required. You will also be given the opportunity to attend various training courses to expand your overall clinical skills.
You will be given the opportunity to work parallel with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure each avenue of the service is offered and explored when agreed. The role requires someone who is caring, creative, enthusiastic, and motivated who wants to make a difference to people's lives.
