Role Description
This is a fixed term role, on-site Team Leader role located in Corby on a 4on 4off shift . The Team Leader will oversee and coordinate team activities to ensure smooth operations and meet performance targets. Responsibilities include supervising team members, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, monitoring productivity, and reporting on operational metrics. Additionally, the role involves coaching and supporting team development, managing workflows, and communicating effectively with both the team and other departments.
Job Description
This is a Fixed Term position working 4 on 4 off, covering the hours of 18:00 - 06:00, with flexibility required during peak periods. The role offers an annual salary up to £34,524.50 depending on skills and experience.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and supervising daily operations to ensure accurate inventory management and efficient workflow execution. This role leads a team within the warehouse or back office function, ensuring adherence to operational standards, compliance requirements, and performance targets. The position plays a critical role in maintaining stock accuracy, optimizing storage practices, and supporting overall supply chain effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team to ensure smooth and efficient daily warehouse or back office operations
- Oversee inventory management activities, ensuring accuracy of stock levels and records
- Coordinate day-to-day operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
- Ensure proper storage practices are followed to maintain product integrity and safety
- Monitor and manage stock control processes, including cycle counts and inventory tracking systems
- Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records
- Investigate variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to stock movement and operational activities
- Enforce compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Train, coach, and support team members to achieve performance targets and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support broader supply chain objectives
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory management
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Strong understanding of stock control processes and inventory systems
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
- Ability to analyze discrepancies and implement solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar tools
