JOB TITLE: IT Specialist

Role Description
You will be responsible for the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of hardware/software for IT solutions to meet business requirements. The role involves analysing user needs, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably.
You will also monitor, configure, and control the setup of IT equipment internally, including hardware, software, networks, and user accounts. In addition, you will provide technical support to employees, assist with system upgrades and installations, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with organisational IT policies and data security standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- set up workstations with computers and necessary devices
- check computer hardware to ensure functionality
- install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Develop and maintain local networks, ensuring security and privacy of networks is set as needed
- provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- organise and schedule upgrades, and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- perform trouble shooting to diagnose and resolve problems
- research, design and implement software programs, testing and evaluating their suitability to the business
- identify areas for modification in existing programs
- project manage the implementation and induction of new IT software/programs in the business and ensure all delegates are trained and have comprehensive understanding of the system as required

Person Specification
- proven experience as an IT specialist/ developer/technician or relevant position
- degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field desirable but not essential
- excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- high attention to detail
- excellent communication
- the ability to communicate clearly all IT solutions to all employees
- in depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
