Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, cost control, and financial management throughout the lifecycle of projects. Duties
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects in accordance with project specifications.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
- Conduct detailed cost control analyses, including value engineering and cost optimisation strategies.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to negotiate prices and secure competitive quotations.
- Prepare tender documentation and evaluate bids received from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects for audit purposes.
- Provide regular financial reports to project managers and senior management, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in contractual negotiations and manage variations or change orders effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong expertise in cost control techniques, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent programmes.
- Good understanding of construction processes, contracts, and legal frameworks.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Relevant qualification such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is preferred.
