Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a cook. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about food service. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, but full training will be provided to the right candidate. This position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within a professional culinary setting.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Cook dishes according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all food handling activities
- Support the team during busy periods by serving customers and managing orders efficiently
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies are low
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation in all aspects of food preparation and service
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation
- Experience in customer service or serving is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- A positive attitude, good organisational skills, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role
