An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday) to oversee our Engineering Stores to ensure good stock management of essential engineering parts to avoid lengthy machine breakdown times.
This is a key role which will contribute to maintaining a culture of cost control, stock optimization and efficiency across all sectors of the business.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Engaging with Engineering and Production Teams to ensure the right parts and stock numbers are maintained.
- Support Procurement Team to ensure a robust buying activity (right suppliers, right prices, right stocks, right contracts).
- Ensure Engineering Stores are always kept organised and tidy and parts are available.
- Ensure good stock management of other consumables (PPE, etc.).
- Raising orders and booking in stock.
- Supporting Procurement Team on day-to-day activities (raw materials, transport, packaging, waste, etc.).
- Carry out stock takes and ensure ERP system is always up to date.
- Driving forklift truck to move heavy loads around the site.
- Maintaining and creating complex excel spreadsheets.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven knowledge of engineering parts and tools.
- A counterbalance forklift license.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly on all levels both verbally and in writing.
- High energy and urgency to problem solving and decision making.
- High attention to detail.
- Computer literate with relevant ERP experience and competent knowledge of MS Excel.
