Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Lead to join and lead our CQC-registered nurse-led community service, with a clear pathway to progress into a Registered Manager role for this service provision.
The foundational phase of service setup is now complete, including CQC approval, set up of initial governance structures and service design The next stage focuses on embedding, leading and scaling the service, alongside planned expansion across both service delivery and geographic locations.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity to take an established framework and drive it into operational maturity, quality assurance and sustainable growth.
The role entails working between our head office (Rayleigh) and additional location (Chelmsford)
Duties
You will be an experienced, quality led and strategic clinician who can:
- Lead a CQC regulated nurse led service in the community
- Build on existing foundations to embed and strengthen clinical governance and practice
- Confident working within or toward CQC regulated service leadership. Previous registration with the CQC is therefore required
- A strong communicator, able to build relationships across teams and stakeholders
- Support the organisation in expanding nurse-led provision across new services and locations
- Bring clinical credibility, leadership presence and organisational awareness, with the ability to balance operational delivery, service development and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and ongoing development of nurse-led care services within a CQC-regulated framework
- Build on the existing service infrastructure, ensuring systems are embedded, effective and scalable
- Work closely with the Registered Manager and CEO to drive service growth and expansion
- Take clinical oversight and accountability for care delivery, risk management and clinical standards
- Develop and maintain strong external relationships (local authorities, healthcare professionals, commissioners, families and regulators)
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, regulatory and legislative requirements
- Lead audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide leadership, supervision and coordination of nursing and care teams
- Support workforce development through training, mentorship and competency frameworks
- Monitor and assure the quality and safety of care delivery in the community setting
- Contribute to business development, partnership working and service growth opportunities
- Respond to and investigate clinical incidents and complaints in line with policy
About You
You will be:
- A Registered Nurse (NMC) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in complex or community-based care
- An experienced clinical leader, or ready to step into a service leadership and development role
- Experience in clinical governance, risk management and care planning
- Able to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving service with growth ambitions
- A systems thinker, able to balance quality, compliance and service expansion
- Committed to high-quality, person centred care and continuous improvement
