Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Junior Chef will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and stock rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Help with menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for dishes.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a busy kitchen.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards helping others in the team.
- Basic knowledge of culinary terms and food preparation methods is advantageous.
