Since 1983, Dingley’s Promise has transformed the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We currently operate 12 specialist Early Years Nurseries across the UK. Our specialist Nurseries offer families sessions from 9.15am to 2.45pm, term time only.
Family Support Worker Responsibilities:
With the support of the Centre Manager, the Family Support Workers will offer early intervention to the families of Dingley’s Promise by providing direct support, building peer support systems, and signposting to other relevant services that can benefit the children and their whole family.
- Ability to work in partnership with other professionals and build relationships between different organisations.
- Support families to understand and successfully take part in the new SEN process – including Education, Health and Care plan as well as finding out more about their rights and entitlements.
- Supporting families with completion of paperwork and relevant forms to support their child/family.
- Approachable and friendly to parents/carers, able to listen to them and accept their feelings, which may include distress, and be non-judgemental. Actively encourage families to join specialised support groups and connect sessions.
- Represent the charity within the community by working positively with professionals, local businesses, and families.
- To be a named Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) for the Centre alongside the Management Team.
- Must have a Level 3 Early Years Qualification
- Must have a full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle
