Bodyshop Manager – Fix Auto Bournemouth £40,000–£50,000 per annum | Full Time | 42.5 Hours Per Week
Fix Auto Bournemouth is looking for an experienced and driven Bodyshop Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our BS10125-accredited accident repair centre. Fix Auto is a leading independent accident repair network, trusted by insurers, manufacturers and drivers across the UK. You will be responsible for the performance, quality and profitability of the site, leading a skilled team and maintaining the high standards our work providers and customers expect.
What you'll be doing:
- Taking overall responsibility for the smooth and profitable running of the bodyshop
- Leading, motivating and developing the workshop team to meet and exceed performance targets
- Setting up job cards, allocating work to productive staff and managing workflow through the workshop
- Carrying out quality control checks and final quality sign-off on completed repairs
- Ensuring all repairs are carried out in line with BS10125 standards and correct welding and repair methods
- Monitoring and managing KPIs, benchmarking data and financial performance
- Maintaining accurate costing and invoicing procedures to protect site profitability
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with work providers, insurers, engineers and auditors
- Arranging sub-contract work on and off-site where required
- Liaising with customers where escalation is required, resolving complaints professionally and sensitively
- Reporting workshop performance to senior management and implementing remedial action where needed
- Updating communication logs and management systems accurately
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in a bodyshop management role, ideally with a minimum of three years at management level
- Strong understanding of accident repair processes, repair methods and BS10125 requirements
- Ability to analyse financial and operational data and act on findings
- Excellent leadership and team motivation skills
- Strong communication skills, both with workshop staff and external stakeholders including work providers and insurers
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality at every stage
- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Competent IT and numeracy skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Audatex estimating experience
- Experience managing within a franchise or insurance-approved repair network
- Familiarity with workshop management systems such as AutoFlow
