The LCCOS family comprises four museums and allied object collections, 14 libraries, the UCL Student Centre, Special Collections facilities, multiple additional learning spaces, and a substantial off-site storage facility. We also provide comprehensive services to healthcare staff through our partnerships with five NHS Trusts. LCCOS holds the UK Customer Service Excellence (CSE) Award, The National Archives (TNA) Archives Service Accreditation, and Arts Council England Museum Accreditation. The combined staff in UCL LCCOS totals around 450. LCCOS is part of the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Faculties).
UCL Special Collections collects, preserves and provides access to archives, records and rare books to support the research and teaching of UCL and to reflect the history of the organisation. The department aims to engage UCL staff, students and external audiences through academic teaching sessions, exhibitions, special events, community, school links and social media.
The postholder is responsible for supporting the development and coordinating the delivery of UCL Special Collections’ teaching with collections, (both academic and outreach) at the Bloomsbury campus. The role also leads on the development of the Main Library exhibition, supported by colleagues in Special Collections and the wider LCCOS team.
Manual handling is required for this role, training will be provided and an acceptable DBS check is required to carry out this role.
This is a fixed-term role until 17th September 2027 in the first instance.

Hybrid Working
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:
- Experience of assisting with the planning and delivery of exhibitions or events.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience of communicating effectively to a range of audiences.
- Excellent skills with MS Office packages, particularly Word and Excel.
- An understanding of the case for Outreach and Public Engagement activity in Higher Education institutions.
