As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Stage Manager to support live production operations, coordinate technical teams, and deliver high-quality entertainment experiences in collaboration with UK and international partners.
Job Description:
The Stage Manager will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of live productions, including rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and live performances.
The role will act as a key communication link between the production team, technical departments, venue teams, performers, and domestic/international artist teams. The successful candidate will ensure that stage operations are organised, safe, and efficiently delivered according to production schedules and company standards.
This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to work in fast-paced live entertainment environments.
Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Preparation
Participate in production meetings, project briefings, and operational planning.
Support the development of rehearsal schedules, production timelines, and stage operation plans.
Prepare and maintain production documents including call sheets, contact lists, cue sheets, rehearsal notes, and show reports.
Coordinate information between creative teams, technical departments, venues, and performers.
Review stage layouts, technical requirements, production schedules, and artist requirements.
Support production risk assessments and ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed.
2. Rehearsal Management
Coordinate daily rehearsal activities and schedules.
Record blocking, cue changes, production notes, and director or producer feedback.
Support rehearsal logistics, including venue preparation and team coordination.
Monitor rehearsal progress and communicate updates to relevant departments.
Coordinate performers, technical crew, and production staff.
Ensure rehearsals run smoothly and according to schedule.
3. Technical Rehearsals & Live Performance Operations
Support backstage operations during technical rehearsals and live performances.
Coordinate stage crew, performers, technical operators, and venue teams.
Assist with calling and managing production cues including lighting, sound, video, stage movements, and special effects.
Conduct pre-show checks and support performer call times.
Ensure all departments are prepared before performances begin.
Monitor show timing and support smooth production flow.
Assist in resolving operational issues and unexpected situations during live events.
Ensure compliance with venue safety procedures and production standards.
4. Artist & International Team Coordination
Act as a key contact between the production team and domestic/international artist teams.
Communicate with artists, artist management, tour managers, production managers, technical crews, and interpreters.
Support the coordination of artist riders, technical requirements, hospitality arrangements, and performance schedules.
Provide clear updates regarding production changes, schedules, and operational requirements.
Support international productions and cross-cultural collaboration.
Maintain professional working relationships with artist representatives and external partners.
5. Post-show Operations
Prepare performance reports and production summaries.
Record operational issues, incidents, and improvement points.
Support stage reset, equipment organisation, and venue handover.
Participate in post-event reviews and production meetings.
Maintain updated production documentation for future projects.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in stage management, live events, theatre, concerts, festivals, or related entertainment production.
Experience supporting or managing live productions in a professional environment.
Good understanding of stage operations, production workflows, and live event processes.
Experience coordinating multiple teams including performers, technical crew, suppliers, and venue staff.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules and priorities.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with producers, directors, technical teams, and external partners.
Experience working with international teams or artists is desirable.
Experience working with Chinese-speaking artist teams is highly desirable.
Portfolio, production credits, or examples of previous relevant projects are required.
Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Professional working ability in Mandarin.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in concerts, festivals, theatre productions, corporate events, or brand activations.
Experience supporting international touring productions.
Familiarity with lighting, audio, video, stage equipment, and show control processes.
Experience using production management tools or event coordination software.
Experience working with Asian entertainment projects or cross-cultural production teams.
Knowledge of current live entertainment technologies and production practices.
Language Requirements:
Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Ability to communicate effectively with performers, production teams, venues, and international partners.
Ability to participate in production meetings and coordinate operational information in English.
Mandarin Chinese proficiency is highly desirable due to regular communication with Chinese-speaking artists, management teams, and production partners.
Additional languages such as Cantonese, Japanese, or Korean are advantageous.
