Full Time Bar & Catering server
Blackmoor Golf Club is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individual to join our Bar & Catering team in a full-time team member role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering exceptional customer service in a welcoming, member-focused environment while supporting the day-to-day operation of the hospitality team. As a key holder, you will be trusted with opening and closing the clubhouse, ensuring the venue is secure, and overseeing smooth daily operations.
Due to the seasonal nature of the golf club, flexibility is essential. The role will require working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, in line with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Bar & Catering team during shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.
- Acting as a key holder, opening and closing the clubhouse, completing security checks, and ensuring the premises are left safe and secure.
- Coordinating the day-to-day running of the bar and catering operation in the absence of senior management.
- Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Taking food and drink orders efficiently and accurately.
- Serving food and beverages to members and guests.
- Processing payments and handling cash/card transactions accurately, including cashing up and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Assisting with the setup and delivery of club events, functions, competitions, and special occasions.
- Working in the Halfway Hut, serving golfers with refreshments and light meals.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout the bar, dining areas, kitchen service points, and storage areas.
- Supporting the training and development of new team members and providing guidance during shifts.
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or ordering requirements where appropriate.
- Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally to ensure an excellent member and guest experience.
- Supporting colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospitality department.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a bar, hospitality, catering, or food service environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a team is desirable.
- A friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to motivate and support colleagues while working as part of a team.
- A positive, reliable, and flexible attitude.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
- Confidence in handling cash, balancing tills, and taking responsibility for opening and closing procedures.
- A willingness to learn and take ownership of the smooth running of each shift.
