About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and creative Communications Specialist to join our team.
This is a pivotal role providing design, administrative and coordination support to the Retail Communications Manager, helping to ensure communications are delivered smoothly, efficiently and consistently across the business.
You will play a key role in managing our communications tracker and calendar, working with stakeholders across the business, creating and proofing content, managing communication channels and sourcing engaging stories from our retail teams.
You will also take ownership of our Opus colleague communications platform, ensuring content is engaging, accurate and delivered in line with our communications governance and agreed timelines.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at pace, has a strong eye for detail and can turn complex information into clear, engaging communications that make a real difference to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the communications tracker on Monday.com, ensuring it is accurate, up to date and effectively supports the communications calendar and content schedule.

Create, edit and proofread high-quality content across a range of channels, including email, intranet, newsletters, presentations and digital platforms.

Create and manage engaging content for Opus, our central internal platform for retail colleagues, covering campaigns, business updates, events, policies, training and key operational messages.

Support the Retail Communications Manager in turning complex information into simple, clear and engaging content.

Manage communication channels to ensure messaging is timely, accurate, relevant and engaging.

Source stories, updates and content from across the retail business to help recognise and engage our colleagues.

Support the evaluation of communications activity, using data, insights and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

Ensure all communications align with brand guidelines, tone of voice and corporate standards.

Gather feedback and insights from colleagues and audiences to continuously improve our communications approach.

Play a key role in developing and implementing a new content model for our intranet, The Hub, supporting intuitive navigation, search functionality, media management and effective information delivery.

Support strategic business projects by providing communications expertise and helping to develop and deliver communications plans that achieve project objectives.

Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers where appropriate to ensure smooth and effective delivery.

Adapt communications and content in response to changing business needs, operational requirements and colleague feedback.

Support the Retail Communications Manager with ad hoc communications requests and additional projects as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, creative and confident working across multiple priorities and platforms.
You will have:

Previous experience working in a communications role at a similar level.

Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.

The ability to turn complex information into clear, concise and engaging content.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

A creative mindset with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Confidence building relationships and liaising with stakeholders across different areas of the business.

Experience managing internal communications channels and digital platforms.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Experience using Monday.com or similar project management/CRM tools.

Experience using Canva or similar design and video-editing tools.

The ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership and driving activity forward.

Resilience and flexibility, with the ability to remain calm and focused when faced with unexpected challenges, changing priorities or last-minute requests.
