Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant / Front of House to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a high standard of service and possess a positive attitude. Previous experience in a café or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
- Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare drinks, including coffee and specialised beverages, adhering to quality standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system, including giving correct change
- Maintain cleanliness of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and display areas
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations at all times
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods, demonstrating good time management skills
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance guest experience
Requirements
- Knowledge of food safety standards is essential
- Previous barista experience or serving background is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the role
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling and transactions
- Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities to handle busy periods effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Basic food preparation skills are advantageous but not compulsory
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary

Pay: £12.21-£16.98 per hour
