Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Waste Operative to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the bin stores are tidy and well-organised. The Waste Operative will be responsible for ensuring waste management procedures are followed safely and effectively, contributing to the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.
Duties
- Collect and correctly dispose of waste materials from designated areas within the site using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure waste is sorted correctly in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness of estate areas - litter pick where needed and liaise with residents for commercial waste collections.
- Patrol the estate and make sure everything is up to standard and submit reports.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Support recycling initiatives by segregating recyclable materials from general waste streams.
- Conduct light maintenance jobs e.g. touch-up paint and changing light bulbs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in waste management highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly as part of daily duties.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual handling tasks throughout shifts.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail when sorting and disposing of waste materials.
- Commitment to health and safety standards in all aspects of work.

Pay: £24,420.00-£26,000.00 per year
