Restaurant Supervisor

This is a hands-on role where you’ll support the day-to-day running of busy dining venues, lead and coach the team, maintain high standards and help create an excellent experience for guests.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as the main point of contact for the team during shifts
- Making sure daily tasks are completed and service runs smoothly
- Supporting managers with the day-to-day operation of dining areas
- Making sure the team are positioned correctly to deal with busy periods
- Helping maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Checking that food is handled, stored and served safely
- Supporting allergen procedures and temperature checks
- Keeping dining areas clean, welcoming and well presented
- Making sure food is replenished quickly and remains fresh and appealing
- Working closely with kitchen teams to maintain good food quality and presentation
- Anticipating busy periods and adjusting staff where needed
- Dealing with guest questions and resolving issues professionally
- Creating a friendly, relaxed and family-focused atmosphere
Team Leadership
You’ll also play an important role in developing the team by:
- Coaching team members during shifts
- Helping new starters understand service and safety expectations
- Providing constructive feedback and support
- Helping team members build confidence when dealing with guests
- Encouraging a positive and supportive working environment
- Recognising good performance and helping motivate the team
Driving Sales & Guest Experience
A key part of the role will be helping the team improve the guest experience while also supporting sales.
This will include:
- Encouraging the team to recommend drinks, starters, desserts and additional items
- Helping staff build confidence with menu and product knowledge
- Making sure guests are offered drinks promptly
- Supporting the team with natural and appropriate upselling
- Checking in with guests during their meals to make sure everything is going well
- Using guest feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Recognising and sharing good performance across the team
Wider Support
You'll also support other areas of the resort when required.
You’ll support the Accommodation team 2 days a week, with the flexibility to work across other departments during the rest of the week depending on operational requirements.
You’ll help maintain standards across the resort, support staff training and compliance, and make sure teams are working effectively during busy periods.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, food service or a similar environment
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Confident managing and coaching a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks
- Confident dealing with guest issues and resolving problems
- Commercially aware and comfortable supporting upselling
- Flexible and willing to support different areas when needed
Previous experience within a holiday resort, hotel, restaurant or high-volume food operation would be advantageous.
