Civils Ganger – Fareham

Pay Rate: £23 – £25 per hour, depending on experience

EMR are currently looking for an experienced Civils Ganger to join a busy civil engineering project in Fareham, starting 24th August 2026.
We are looking for a hands-on Ganger with strong experience in civils and infrastructure projects, who can confidently lead a small gang of operatives while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a small gang of groundworkers
- Coordinating day-to-day civils and groundworks activities
- Overseeing drainage installation and associated civils works
- Reading and working from drawings and site plans
- Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification
- Liaising with Site Managers and Engineers and reporting progress
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety on site
- Working hands-on alongside the gang when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Civils Ganger on infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Valid CSCS Card
- SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
- CPCS or NPORS plant tickets, such as Dumper, Roller or 360, advantageous
- Ability to read drawings and confidently lead a small team
- Strong knowledge of civils, drainage and groundworks
- Own PPE
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Reliable and able to work as part of a busy site team
