We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner with NVQ Level 3 qualification to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development in line with early childhood education standards.
- Supervise children during play, mealtimes, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children’s individual needs by implementing tailored care plans, especially for those with special educational requirements or disabilities.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to inform ongoing assessments and parent updates.
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage good manners, cooperation, and independence among children.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a welcoming classroom environment that promotes learning through exploration and creativity.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures, hygiene standards, and safeguarding policies.
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or nursery environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- First aid certification to confidently respond to emergencies and provide immediate care when needed.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs or disabilities using inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and team members through effective communication.
- Demonstrated ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism. Candidates have a minimum Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years. Health and Social care qualifications are not eligible as they are not recognised by Ofsted in Early Years.
We offer a mental health support contract to every team member. You would receive 12 face to face counselling sessions per year and also 24/7 access to mental health specialists by other phone or in a chat function.
25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays plus your birthday off.
Fully funded extended training to Masters Degree level at no cost to the team member.
