The Central Hub Brighton is the SEMH specialist provision for the city consisting of Brighton and Hove Pupil Referral unit, Primary and Middle School, The Connected Hub and the Treehouse (based at Fairlight Primary School) has three bases across the city. We have good links with other educational organisations in the city. About the Role
As a key member of our Middle School team, you’ll deliver a creative, relevant, and highly personalised curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our KS3 learners. You’ll work in a supportive and collaborative environment, alongside teaching assistants, leadership, and external professionals.
This role offers the opportunity to:

Teach within a specialist SEMH setting
- Shape meaningful learning experiences that re-engage students
- Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional and academic development
Experience across a range of subjects—or a specialism in literacy or humanities would be highly valued.
Principal accountabilities

Work with small groups of KS3 children who have an EHCP, have struggled to learn within the mainstream environment and need a nurturing approach to engage and achieve
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, differentiated lessons
- Provide a safe, supportive classroom environment rooted in understanding and consistency
- Support students’ academic progress, wellbeing, and personal growth
- Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Embed key skills across the curriculum, including
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
