Requirements
- Previous professional kitchen experience at Chef de Partie level or above.
- Must hold a Food Hygiene Level 3 certificate or be willing to obtain one prior to starting the role.
- Strong leadership and delegation skills.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport preferred due to venue location.
- Reliable, diligent, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help deliver exceptional food and service for weddings and events at Danby Castle Barn.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting compliance with Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB) and all food safety procedures.
- Assisting in maintaining full compliance with Environmental Health Officer (EHO) standards, including accurate record keeping and daily checks.
- Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Supporting and coordinating food preparation alongside the Head Chef.
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal menu planning.
- Supervising and supporting junior kitchen staff.
- Assisting with stock control, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
- Helping resolve issues efficiently during service and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
- Supporting the training and development of junior chefs.
- Monitoring and maintaining kitchen equipment and cleanliness standards.
- Maintaining accurate administration records, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Supporting wider kitchen operations and covering key duties during periods of absence within the team.

Salary
£34,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
