Role Definition:
Managing the Northern Collection Centre - Building business within the existing supplier base, driving new business with dairy farmers of the UKs leading fully integrated supply chain. The role involves purchasing calves and providing guidance to dairy farmers on genetic selection. Working alongside key stakeholders within the supply chain to continue growth. The role:
Working onsite in the collection centre on a fortnightly basis, managing the throughput of calves from dairy farmers and hauliers. Providing feedback to calf suppliers and ensuring high welfare standards are met. Days not in the collection centre will be taking bookings, visiting current suppliers and onboarding new suppliers. Managing on farm software throughout this whole process is key, so experience in using farm management software is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Supplier recruitment and onboarding accounts in line with targets
Ensuring suppliers fulfil their calf supply goals through account planning
Booking in calves adhering to the calf forecast
Coordinate calf transport with external hauliers and regional supply from collection centres
Maintain calf specification to meet company standards
Drive supplier performance and new business development through collaboration with genetic companies
Work with farm assurance teams to continue compliance
This role requires a full UK driving licence.

Excellent Communication skills
Good knowledge of animal welfare standards
Experience of managing your own diary
Team player
Good knowledge of the UK dairy, genetics and beef industry
Excellent understanding of livestock movements
Can build and develop business relations with existing client basis
