We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Procurement Officer to manage supplier relationships, purchasing activities, stock replenishment, and product sourcing across multiple product categories.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities.
Monitor stock levels and place purchase orders to maintain optimum inventory.
Negotiate pricing, rebates, promotional support, and trading terms with suppliers.
Source new products, brands, and suppliers to expand product ranges.
Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers.
Analyse sales trends, stock performance, and demand forecasts.
Monitor supplier lead times and delivery performance.
Resolve supplier shortages, backorders, and supply chain issues.
Ensure purchase orders are processed accurately and on time.
Work closely with warehouse, sales, marketplace, and e-commerce teams.
Review product profitability, margins, and pricing opportunities.
Support annual supplier reviews and contract negotiations.
Maintain accurate supplier and product records within business systems.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain role.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Excellent analytical and commercial awareness.
Good knowledge of inventory management and stock control.
Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
Experience within wholesale, distribution, office products, stationery, FMCG, retail, or e-commerce sectors.
Knowledge of supplier management systems, ERP, StoreFeeder, Shopify, or similar platforms.
Experience working with UK distributors and manufacturers.
Understanding of import/export purchasing and supply chain management.
