Job Summary
Nestled in the heart of the South Downs, The Woodcote is a boutique country retreat offering refined dining and elegant guest accommodation. We pride ourselves on warm hospitality, attention to detail and creating memorable experiences for every client. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Front of House Assistant to join our close-knit team. This is a key role in welcoming guests, ensuring seamless service and upholding the high standards for which The Woodcote is known.
Key Responsibilities
- Extend a genuine and professional welcome to all guests, ensuring their experience begins with warmth and care.
- Manage reservations and the booking system efficiently, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide informed recommendations about our seasonal menus, wine list and local attractions.
- Handle guest inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
- Support the smooth running of the restaurant and guest areas by maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar and service teams to ensure an impeccable flow of service.
- Assist with the setup and service of private dining, celebrations and events as needed.
- Consistently uphold health, safety and hygiene standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience.
- Excellent communication skills with a naturally warm and approachable manner.
- Confidence in multitasking and thriving under pressure in a busy, high-end environment.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- A genuine passion for great service, food and guest experience.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
