At Bev's Bistro, we're passionate about good food made properly. Everything we serve is freshly prepared using quality local ingredients, and we believe great hospitality is about making every customer feel welcome and valued.
We're looking for a hands-on Bistro & Catering Supervisor who enjoys the variety that comes with working in an independent business. One minute you could be preparing food for a catering order, the next serving customers in the bistro, managing stock levels, or helping the team through a busy service.
This is not a role where you'll spend your day behind a desk. It's a practical, fast-paced position for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in wherever needed. You'll need experience in both catering and front-of-house operations, a strong eye for detail, and a genuine passion for food made from scratch.
Most importantly, you'll understand that while people might not remember exactly what they ate, they'll always remember how they were made to feel.
The role:
Reporting to: Bev, Founder & Director
Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week | Salary £15.00 p/hr
As we're a hospitality and events business, flexibility is essential. Shifts may be scheduled Monday to Sunday between 6:00am and 10:30pm, depending on bistro bookings and catering events.
Location: Aberdeen City Centre
Driving: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, as occasional deliveries and event support across Aberdeenshire may be required.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing high-quality food and baked goods to Bev's Bistro standards
- Providing excellent customer service in the bistro and at catering events
- Making coffees, serving breakfasts, lunches, bistro dinners and afternoon teas
- Managing stock levels and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting and co-ordinating day-to-day activities of the team
- Ensuring food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures are followed
- Opening and closing the bistro when required
- Helping with catering deliveries and event set-up
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the business
- Supporting with all aspects of the operation, including washing dishes, food preparation and cleaning when needed
About you:
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves food and has a genuine passion for cooking and baking from scratch
- Has experience in both catering and customer-facing hospitality roles
- Leads by example and isn't afraid to get involved in every aspect of the business
- Takes pride in delivering consistently high standards
- Is organised, reliable and can manage multiple priorities
- Has excellent communication and people skills
- Values honesty, integrity and accountability in everything they do
- Is willing to own mistakes, learn from them, and always do the right thing
- Enjoys working as part of a small, close-knit team
- Takes pride in both their work and personal presentation
- Thrives in a busy environment and remains calm under pressure
The reality of the role:
Hospitality isn't always glamorous. There will be early starts, occasional late finishes, busy services and physically demanding days. We're looking for someone who embraces that challenge, enjoys being part of a team, and takes satisfaction from a job well done.
In return, you'll join a small independent business where your contribution genuinely matters, your ideas are welcomed, and no two days are ever the same.
This role has real potential for growth. As the business continues to develop, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us. If you bring the right attitude, show initiative, and consistently make a positive impact on the business, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress your career with Bev's Bistro.
