Role:
The Role of the HME Co-ordinator is an integral part of the Fleet Department team with an emphasis on coordination of all plant and equipment and the logistics required to enable the smooth running of Fleet activities.
The Cordinator will work closely together with the HME Manager and support the administrative tasks of the department
Main Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of all heavy equipment, including registration, certification, inspections, and servicing history.
- Update asset management systems with equipment movements, status, and utilisation.
- Manage filing systems (digital and physical) for plant documentation.
- Answer telephones from Equipment Operators and record details of any issues in the breakdown log, communicate issues to HME Manager and call out engineers / hydraulic hose suppliers or relevant contractor
- Order spare parts for equipment, fuel, lubricants as required
- Prepare purchase orders as required
- Track expiry dates for inspections, certifications, and compliance documents e.g., LOLER,
- Ensure all required documentation is current and readily available for audits.
- Support compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Process equipment requests, hire orders, and return documentation.
- Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers regarding equipment availability and updates.
- Coordinate service bookings and track completion of repairs and inspections.
- Maintain maintenance schedules and service records.
The Ideal Candidate
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Competent in IT skills - Experience of Microsoft Office & Excel
- Mobile Plant or Hire Desk experience is highly desirable
- Training will be given on bespoke software applications
- Previous experience of hire desk, heavy equipment
