Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with Hiab and Crane training to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 2 truck, equipped with a Hiab crane, to deliver goods efficiently and securely to various locations. Your expertise in flatbed handling and sheeting combined with your strong driving skills and delivery experience, will ensure timely service while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Use Hiab crane and flatbed equipment proficiently for loading and unloading goods at multiple sites
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure operational safety and compliance
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines
- Assist with securing loads on flatbeds using appropriate straps, chains, and other securing devices
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving license with a clean driving record
- Certified Hiab crane operator with proven experience in crane handling on commercial vehicles
- Demonstrated experience as a delivery driver within a commercial or logistics environment
- Knowledge of flatbed handling techniques and load securing procedures
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and transportation compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customer service
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules
